This is the home of the first Ecomunicipality in the nation - Washburn, WI. Bayfield is also an Ecomunicipality and has the most Travel Green Wisconsin certified businesses in the entire state. Travel Green is a program through the WI Dept. of Tourism that recognizes businesses for their commitment to earth friendly practices. Take action - Look for the Travel Green symbol during your visit to support these efforts.
The Alliance for Sustainability is also active in the Chequamegon Bay area with workshops, guest speakers and programming throughout the year.
