For adults there are 3 races: a 19km Pursuit Race, an 8km Classic Race, and an 11km Skate Race.  For Youth we have a 3.5 km Freestyle race (geared toward middle school and high school racers), and an informal sprint relay. For those 8 and under we have a .5 km race (not timed).</span></span></p>]]></description>

Ashwabay Summit Ski Race offers a 3.5k youth, 19k adult pursuit race (this is worldcup style, transition area to switch skis and poles), 8k adult classic, 11k adult skate, and 0.5k kids (8 and under) fun race. All races start and finish at the Mt. Ashwabay Chalet. Classic and skating lanes are provided throughout the skate courses. Middle School and High School racers are encouraged to do the 3.5k race.  All awards are edible, think pie!</span></span></p>]]></description>

				      <description><![CDATA[<p><span style=&#39;font-size: x-small;&#39;><p>Meet at the Cable Natural History Museum from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. for the second half of Winter Animal Tracking. Participants will carpool to areas within the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest in search of animal tracks such as: wolf, coyote, fox, fisher, bobcat, elk, and deer. Depending on the snow depth and location of tracks, tracking may be done on snowshoes over uneven terrain. A limited number of adult snowshoes are available for use from the Cable Natural History Museum for &#36;4/adult pair. Participants must provide their own bag lunch. Dress accordingly for the weather. Registration is concurrent with Winter Animal Tracking: Part I.</p></span></p>]]></description>

Participants can choose to run, walk, ski, snowshoe, skate or even bike the 5-mile course on the famous &#39;ice road&#39; across frozen Lake Superior from Bayfield to Madeline Island and back.</span></span></p><p><span style=&#39;font-size: 10pt; font-family: &#39;><span style=&#39;font-size: small;&#39;>Registration begins at the Bayfield pavilion at 10:00 am.
