Over 90 artists from 9 states will gather for one of Wisconsin's largest art shows on Saturday, July 28th from 10 am - 5 pm and Sunday, July 29th from 10 am – 4 pm at Bayfield's 50th annual Festival of Arts. This juried arts & crafts show is held in Memorial Park on the shores of Lake Superior in downtown Bayfield. Visitors will find a wide selection of pottery, painting, jewelry, sculpture, and glass among Bayfield's studios, and the opportunity to view the artists at work during this arts weekend.

History comes to life with the traditional Blessing Ceremony; commercial fishing boats, tugs, powerboats, sailboats, excursion and transportation craft, and rowboats parade through Bayfield's City Harbor. As they pass by the tip of the pier, clergy from the Apostle Islands community grant each vessel a blessing for safe passage and a prosperous season on Lake Superior.

All boats in the Chequamegon Bay area are invited to participate in the ecumenical service and Blessing Ceremony. The United States Coast Guard Auxillary will direct the boats through the harbor via marine radio and/or megaphone. Please join us for this fun, interactive family event! Learn how to build your own scarecrow or bring your own scarecrow from home to enter in the contest. We will have all the supplies you need for making a special scarecrow, but participants are welcome to bring their own unique outfits, hats and supplies. While you work, enjoy free doughnuts, apples and apple cider, Sgt. Pepperoni's pizza and free hayrides with Northwoods Sleigh and Carriage.

Prizes will be awarded to the winning scarecrows in three categories; family, individual and organization and chosen selections will be displayed in town.
