SPRING LOAD RESTRICTIONS
Pursuant to Section 348.16, Wisconsin Statutes, the Bayfield County Highway Department will impose spring breakup road restrictions beginning 4:00 PM on FRIDAY, March 9, 2012.
All County road restrictions (lettered roads) shall be posted for 6 Tons maximum per single axle and 10 ton maximum per tandem axle group. All non – divisible overweight permits will be suspended at this time.
Exception to the posting will occur on CTH-E from USH-63 westerly ½-mile, CTH-F from USH 63 westerly 1-mile and CTH–J north from STH 13 for 1.2 miles.
The following exemptions are allowed during this period:
- Bulk milk trucks
- Heating fuel trucks
- Septic tank pump trucks
- Solid waste haulers
- Local retail delivery trucks
- School buses
- Propagation & Transporting of fish / fish food
This weight restriction shall remain in effect until approximately May 15, 2011, as conditions dictate. Notice will be posted in local paper.
