New County Services

Bayfield County has recently added some services to assist the public:

After hours drop box

An after-hours drop box has been installed near the east entrance to the Courthouse Building.  This service is provided for those that have envelopes to drop off at the courthouse, but cannot get there during working hours.

Passport photos

The County Clerk's office is now able to produce passport photos. Photos are processed immediately at a cost of $12.  Passport applications can be obtained through the Clerk of Court's office.

Online employment applications

Applying for employment with Bayfield County has been simplified. In the past, applicants were required to manually complete a paper application for each position they applied for.  The county has recently  upgraded to an on-line application system "powered by NeoGov".  Some of the features of the new system include:

  • Applicants set up their own unique username and password. Basic demographic data such as name, address, phone is entered only once. This data can then be used to apply for multiple positions.
  • Job seekers can submit "Job Interest Cards" electronically. The job seeker selects the type of position they are interested in. When a position becomes available the job seeker is notified via email.
  • Interview scheduling and application status can be obtained electronically, eliminating paper mailings and long distance phone calls.

Internally, the new application/recruitment technology will reduce applicant processing time and will provide various statistical reports on recruitment/hiring efforts. The system also allows hiring managers to view the applications on their computer monitors rather than making copies of the applications.
