Vehicle Registrations
The Bayfield County Sheriff's Office is available to register vehicles Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. You will need to bring the Certificate of Title that has been completed and signed by the seller along with a lien release for each lien listed on the title. You will also need to bring your Wisconsin driver's license or your Social Security Card. For more information about documentation requirements or fees, please call (715) 373-6300

- Certificate of Title: $69.50
- License plates: $75.00
- Light Truck (4500lbs): $75.00
- Light Truck (6000lbs): $84.00
- Light Truck (8000lbs): $106.00
There is also 5.5% sales tax on the purchase price.

- Certificate of Titles: $16.00
- Renewals: $10.00
To legally operate your vehicle you must display a permanent or temporary plate within two business days of purchase.
To renew/reinstate your Wisconsin driver's license, or to renew your license plates, please use the Wisconsin DOT website. There is $1.00 charge for processing your renewal online.
