Obtaining a Land Use Permit

The Bayfield County Planning and Zoning Department issues land use permits. To obtain an application packet you have 2 options:

1. Contact the Planning and Zoning Office (715) 373-6138. Please have a copy of your tax statement or your Parcel ID number available.
2. See our Administrative Regions page and find out the days and times an inspector is available at their satellite office. Please have a copy of your tax statement or your Parcel ID number available.

Please Note

The Planning and Zoning Department Staff will ask for your Parcel ID number (Pin number). If you do not know your Parcel ID#, please have your tax statement available. If you recently purchased the property and have not received a tax statement, please have your recorded deed available. The parcel ID number is required to verify the zoning district/lakes classification for dimensional and setback requirements.
