Admire over 54,000 blooming daffodils, a vibrant mosaic of roadside lupine, and rolling orchards of apple blossoms bursting into rosy color during Bayfield's month-long celebration of Spring, the Annual Bayfield in Bloom. GARDEN EXPO & LIVE BROADCAST OF WPR's "GARDEN TALK" WITH LARRY MUELLER: On May 11th from 10am to 2pm, guests will have the opportunity to meet and speak with local horticultural experts and win Spring-themed door prizes during the coinciding Bayfield in Bloom Garden Expo.

Enjoy a month-long tasting of the Washburn Area eateries. From Mon. May 15- Sun. June 9 take the time to dine from the signature menus that make up Washburn’s renowned eateries. Pick up a “passport” when you Eat. Drink. Washburn. Spend a minimum of $10.00 at any of the participating eateries to have your “passport” stamped. A 3 stamp minimum will qualify a person to be entered in the raffle to win a $50.00 gift certificate to the eatery of the winners choice. Passports must be submitted to the Washburn Chamber Office (126 W Bayfield St. ) no later than Thursday, June 14th to be entered in the raffle.

The South Shore Quilters will hold a bake sale at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday of Memorial Day week-end. Proceeds from the sale will be used to purchase quilt batting to fill mission quilts sent to Lutheran World Relief. Quilters make and send approximately 150 quilts each year that go to refugees and victims of disasters worldwide.10 am to 1 pm

Please join us immediately following the Memorial Day ceremony downtown, as we walk from the Town dock up Colonel Woods Avenue to the MIHPA Heritage Center. We will gather around the Veteran's Honor Garden for a flag raising ceremony, songs by the summer choir and the laying of the new pavers in the Honor Garden .
We will also dedicate the mural painted on the back of the Angus building of Captain Dan Angus and his schooner the Lizzie W, along with John Hagan and his iconic Lake Trout.
Light refreshments will be served. Join us for the Remembrance Walk to honor the veterans who served in the military immediately following the ceremony at the ferry dock. This year we will also feature a short ceremony to dedicate the outdoor mural painted by island artist, Holly Tourdot, on the back of the Parsonage building.
