The eight Birkie Trail Run, Relay and Trek events feature the best sections of the famous Birkie Trail and single-track sections of the CAMBA trail system. This an event that is perfect for runners looking to break free from the roads, it is a great crossover and introduction to trail running. The Birkie Trail has a wide, grass covered, level surface, and the single-track is smooth and fast. But don’t make any mistake, this is a 100% trail race, with the famous Birkie hills, making for a challenging race for even veteran trail runners.

Sunday will be the museum's annual open house, with admission by donation.
This event is a commemoration of the Treaty of 1854, which was signed at La Pointe on Madeline Island. This important treaty established the first Ojibwe reservations in Wisconsin and stipulated the rights of the Ojibwe to hunt, gather and fish in the ceded territories in perpetuity.
With an exhibit on Ojibwe treaty rights from the Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission, and screenings of "Mikwendaagoziwag" (“They Are Remembered”) about the Sandy Lake tragedy and Chief Buffalo’s journey to Washington, D.C. — screened at 1:00 pm each day.
