Admire over 50,000 blooming daffodils, a vibrant mosaic of roadside lupine & rolling orchards of apple blossoms bursting into rosy color during our month-long celebration of spring. Special events include a live WPR Broadcast of Garden Talk with Larry Meiller and a Garden Expo at the historic Lakeside Pavilion in downtown Bayfield, Garden Tours and the annual Blessing of the Fleet. Bayfield in Bloom runs from May 8 through June 7, 2020.

History comes to life with the traditional Blessing Ceremony: commercial fishing boats, tugs, powerboats, sailboats, excursion and transportation craft, and rowboats parade through Bayfield's City Harbor. As they pass by the tip of the pier, clergy from the Apostle Islands community grant each vessel a blessing for safe passage and a prosperous season on Lake Superior.

Our 2020 inaugural celebration happens to land on Father’s Day this year, and will be happening in Ashland, Washburn, Bayfield, Red Cliff, Bad River, and Cornucopia. Parks, porches, sidewalks, parking lots, and business fronts all over our area will be filled with music being played and/or sung outside and under awnings. People may find themselves serenaded by a guitar soloist, or a choir, a rock band, or an accordion group, some flute players, a barbershop quartet, a string ensemble, a mass guitar band, a drum circle – or maybe even ukuleles or kazoos! Solos, duos, trios, quartets etc…The possibilities are limitless. Residents (and visitors) are invited to travel around Chequamegon Bay to see and hear their neighbors play and enjoy live music!

Novice and experienced bicyclists ride a scenic mix of paved roads past farmland, forest, lakes, gently rolling hills, vistas and views of Lake Superior. Choose loops of either 13, 19, 34, 40, 52, 70 or 100 miles. This ride is fully supported with maps, support vehicles and food and beverage stops en-route. At the finish line, there is more food, music and fun! This is a ride, not a race -- great for families and individuals.
