  2. Northern Pines Sled Dog Race

    February 16, 2019, All Day @ Northern Pines Golf Course and Event Center

    The race starts and finishes at the beautiful Northern Pines Golf Course and Event Center. Situated in the Bayfield County Forest, this sprint race is an exhilarated down hill run through the golf course entering the Bayfield County Trail system and the Tri-County Corridor. Spectators will experience the excitement of the race from vantage points on event center grounds and along the trail route. Free family-friendly events will be hosted in the event center with opportunity to meet the mushers on Friday evening. Limited public tickets are available for the musher dinner with local guest speaker, Talia Martens, 2018 Jr. Iditarod Sled Dog Race Competitor.

  3. Book Across the Bay

    February 16, 2019, 10:00 AM - 11:00 PM @ Thompson's West End

    Book Across the Bay is the upper Midwest's most unique winter event, open to skiers and snowshoers of all ages and ability levels. The 10-kilometer course, which is groomed for both classic-style and skate skiing, starts in Ashland and ends in Washburn, and follows a route not on land, but over the frozen surface of Lake Superior, the world's largest lake. The event is held at night, and the course is lit by the stars above and up to 1,000 candles in ice luminaries that line the entire route.
