Pick your favorite sled dog team and cheer them on from start to finish as they race the hills and flats through the forests of the Bayfield Peninsula. While waiting, keep warm with coffee and hot chocolate beside the bonfire! It’s an unforgettable experience and an absolute must for any winter sports enthusiasts or dog lover!
The 25th Annual Apostle Islands Sled Dog Race will be held on Saturday and Sunday, February 1 and 2, 2020. Races begin at 10am both days. There are two main races: an 10-dog, 80-mile race and a 6 dog, 60-mile race. There’s also a 40-mile Sportsmens’ Race, a 6 to 8-mile Family Race and a 6 to 8-mile Youth Race (16 and under). Multiple spectator locations are available with amenities including a warming tent, concessions and fires to keep warm by.
Programs with a map and list of addition events will be available at the Bayfield Chamber and Visitor Bureau and on the race grounds.
February 1, 2020, All Day @ Mt Ashwabay Ski & Recreation Area
The Mt. Ashwabay Summit Ski Race offers a 3.5k Middle School / Youth, 7k High School Skate Race, 10k/15k adult pursuit race (this is worldcup style, transition area to switch skis and poles), 10k adult classic, 15k adult skate, and 0.5k kids (8 and under) fun race. All races start and finish at the Mt. Ashwabay Chalet. Classic and skating lanes are provided throughout the skate courses. Middle School Racers are encouraged to do the 3.5k race, High School Racers are encouraged to do the 7k Skate Race.
February 1, 2020, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ Sawmill Saloon
The Seeley Big Fat Race is a low-key, self-supported, 14-mile winter fat bike race plus a 6-mile option on the Seeley Hills bike and ski trails. Be sure to bring water, food, tools and anything else you might need on the trail, as you are on your own.
The Sawmill Saloon in beautiful Downtown Seeley is the place to be for registration before the race and for fun afterwards.
Registration is $45 through Dec. 31 and $65 from Jan. 1 through race day. You may register online, or at the Sawmill Saloon on Friday, Jan. 18 from 6:00-8:00pm and Saturday from 7:30-9:00 am
The race is a fundraiser for the CAMBA Fat bike trails. Don’t Miss It!

Held at the Loon Saloon on Cty Hwy D on Lake Namakagon. Entrants may start fishing as 12:00am. CASH PRIZES for biggest fish in these categories: Walleye, Northern, Perch, Bluegill & Crappie.
Get your entry ticket(s) for $10 which also includes an entry into the CASH RAFFLE drawing for a chance to $$$$$!!! **(You do not need to be present or fish to be eligible for the CASH RAFFLE)**

Join the Washburn ValHellers Snowmobile Club for their annual fund raiser and party. Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 4 PM – 8 PM at Valhalla View Pub & Grub! OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Large raffle prizes including a cordless chainsaw and huge TV; 50/50 raffles, meat raffles and more!
End a great day of riding at the Pub. All proceeds go to trail maintenance and grooming in the Washburn and Valhalla areas. Even if you are not a snowmobile rider, come out for a great meal and win some fun prizes.
