  1. CANCELLED- Apostle Islands Lighthouse Celebration

    September 8, 2020, 10:00 AM - September 19, 2020, 5:00 PM

For well over a century lighthouses have guided mariners through the waters of Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands. Today, these historic island beacons are a traveler's treasure and a rich part of Wisconsin's maritime history. Our Celebration presents island cruise opportunities that dock at Raspberry, Michigan, Sand and Outer Island and offer guided tours of these lighthouses. Other cruises include the popular Ultimate Lighthouse Cruise; a non-stop voyage to see five of the eight lighthouses from the comfort of your cruise boat and the Sea Caves & Lighthouses Cruise that passes The Raspberry and Sand Island lights and the impressive mainland sea caves. Cruise Lake Superior's Apostle Islands National Lakeshore and learn about the Keepers and their families that lived and worked in this secluded setting among the Apostle Islands on the greatest of the Great Lakes, Lake Superior.

  2. Day of Charity Golf Benefit (MS Golf Benefit- Lakewoods)

September 11, 2020, All Day @ Lakewoods Resort

Lakewoods Forest Ridges Golf Course will be hosting the Annual Saw-Bay-Ash MS Golf Benefit. This tournament has been an astounding success. The event has raised over $250,000 to help those people afflicted with Multiple Sclerosis. “Every year it astonishes me the generosity and commitment people show toward this event,” says Kathy Rasmussen, Co-Chairman, “We will again see more than 100 contributors pledge their money and services to help the benefit.” The event sees over 25 four-person teams from around the country compete in a scramble format for thousands of dollars in prizes, raffles and auction items. Open to anyone excited about the cause, it is a truly rewarding event. “It is because of the strong community support and efforts of the people in these three counties that we contribute the success of the event,” said Kathy Rasmussen, “but let’s not forget the participants from Texas, Indiana and those who traveled from all over the Mid-West to help.”

Participating organizations in 2018 included LSTS, the Bayfield Heritage Association, the Bayfield Carnegie Library, the Bayfield Coast Guard Station, the Bayfield Sea Scout Ship 336 and the Bayfield Maritime Museum. We continue to grow this event every year by inviting more boats and organizations to make this a very special three-day event!
