The Washburn Cultural Center is proud to announce the opening of Backwoods Artists, consisting of more than 80 works from 11 artists who have taken classes from local watercolorist Wei Lan Lorber.
We invite you to visit the Cultural Center from Wednesday, Sept. 16, to Saturday, Oct. 10., to view Backwoods Artists and celebrate this region’s newer local talents! The fall colors won't be the only things bursting to life this fall. The Cable Area Fall Fest, offers visitors of every age entertaining opportunities sure to make this your favorite festival of the year. Cornstalks, hay bales, and pumpkins line the roads throughout the Cable community. Live music, car, motorcycle and truck show, arts and crafts vendors, and incredible food vendors fill the streets all for your enjoyment.
Activities kick off on Friday with local stores offering specials, and a Fall Harvest Dessert Contest, sign up to be an "official" judge by contacting the Chamber for more information. The evening concludes with a Community Dinner, Beer & Wine Garden, and Live Music so bring your dancing shoes!
Saturday kicks into high gear with a Pumpkin Pecan Pancake Breakfast, Art & Craft Vendors, Car, Motorcycle, and Truck Show, Live Music, Bounce Houses and Carnival Games, and SO MUCH MORE!

New venue in 2020! The Birkie Trail Run Festival will start & finish at the American Birkebeiner Trailhead, in Cable, WI! The nine events will traverse the rolling hills and twists & turns of the famous Birkie Trail, as well as single-track sections of the CAMBA trail system. You’ll see beautiful vistas from atop Mt. Telemark, run by crisp cool waters, all amidst the beautiful forests of northwest Wisconsin. The Birkie Trail Run Festival has a friendly north woods vibe, awesome Vendor Fair, a finish-line party with hot lunch, cold Earth Rider craft beer, root beer, on-site camping, bonfires, and much more.
